QRUDU is a SAAS that I am building with a colleague.
We want to help restaurants owners ease in with technology. providing them with the necessary tools to create a fully online order app.
Helping restaurant owners spend more time on the more valuable tasks like cooking, instead of having to wonder around if their clients are ready to order or not.
We have developed QR + NFC technology that does exactly that, it allows restaurant customers to scan our codes and directly order through our app, which is directly integrated with the restaurant order book.
In order to develop this app, we have spent over 400h combined work, were we not only coded, but learned many technologies in the way including:
- React
- NodeJS + NextJS
- NeonDb (connected through prisma to manage databases)
- Stripe (to integrate payments)
- Google Apis (to add secure login, access gmail and maps APIs)
- Cloudflare (for security reasons and to store large volume of images)
- OpenAI (to integrate automatic translations as well as a chatbot to answer our clients questions) [work in progress]
- Github (to automatically share work between my partner and I)
- Render (to host our apps)
- And many other modules for smaller but meaningful features
Apart from coding knowledge, I also learned fundamental skills like teamwork and communication, as well as task management to prioritize the most impactful tasks.
After thinking, how could I explain the scale of this project, I realized a simple screenshot wont be enough, nor telling you it has well over 20k lines of code. That’s why encourage anyone who’s interested to check the actual website, and wonder around the different options that restaurant owners have
Some of the features restaurant owners have include customizing all colors, fonts, sizes and overall style of their page, as well as add or remove items and tables as will. And of course, provide them with full analytics, giving them the option to track every order in real time.
